Dr. Lukas

Dr. Robert A. Lukas graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1982.

He was born and raised within the City of Detroit. He returned there after vet school and practiced in and around Detroit for six years, four spent in emergency medicine and two spent in general practice.

His last position in Michigan was as Chief of Staff for an emergency practice. He then performed per diem work at various practices and sailboarded for six months while coming up with his "California Plan".

He moved to California in 1988 and worked as a co-manager of an emergency practice in San Leandro. This position he held for sixteen years, with the last six years spent integrating with a veterinary specialty practice of similar scope to VSA/VMS.

He came to Concord to co-manage Contra Costa Veterinary Emergency Center and had done so from 2004 until the end of 2007, when he resigned and became partners with VSA/VMS to establish a veterinary emergency facility in Dublin. He is fully committed and energized toward the establishment of the Tri-Valley Animal Emergency Center in Dublin, CA, serving as lead partner for the emergency center.

Bob has been a Tri- Valley resident for the last seventeen years, residing in the Tri-Valley with his wife and two kids and three dogs (no cats due to family allergies). He is a booster for the Danville Mustang girl's soccer team and can be seen at Tri-Valley swim meets and Pleasanton CYO track meets.
